ERDC DANCE COMPANIES
**Right now, we plan to have two teams, but depending on the level of the dancers who audition, we may have to create a third team. We will have to make that decision after auditions.**
JUNIOR COMPANY AGES 8-11
Our dance company is a committed group of dancers who perform at events, such as parades, showcases, dance competitions, nursing homes, etc. Ideally, they perform 4 times a year and attend at least 1 dance masterclass/workshop convention. Company members perform group pieces in the styles of jazz and lyrical. Our dance company season runs from September-May.
Tryouts are June 5, 2025 and results will be out by June 9, 2025. There is a $10/dancer audition fee.
Requirements to be apart of the company:
-Excellent attendance for regular recital classes and all company rehearsals (see bottom of this page for more attendance requirement details)
-During our regular recital season, dancer must take ballet class twice a week and jazz once a week. Dancer must be registered for these classes for the upcoming season prior to trying out June 5th.
-Must purchase our dance company jacket
-Must be enrolled in our Tap/Jazz/Ballet Summer Intensive in July (contact us if you already have vacation planned for 2025)
Cost:
-Junior Dance Company ages 8-11: $1200 for the season
The $1200 is the budget for each student, which includes:
-August choreography day to start working on group pieces (3 hours)
-1 hour group rehearsal every other Saturday
-Competition fees (2 competitions a season) and entry costs for 2 group competition dances
-1 masterclass/workshop convention
-Costs to be in parades, showcases, and other noncompetitive events
-Costumes for these performances

-Junior Company ages 8-11: Saturdays 11:05AM-12:05PM
SENIOR COMPANY AGES 12+
Our dance company is a committed group of dancers who perform at events, such as parades, showcases, dance competitions, nursing homes, etc. Ideally, they perform 6 times a year and attend at least 1 dance masterclass/workshop convention. Company members perform group pieces in the styles of jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. Our dance company season runs from September-May.
Tryouts are June 5, 2025 and results will be out by June 9, 2025. There is a $10/dancer audition fee.
**Current dance company members do not have to attend summer tryouts, rather they are to submit a video of themselves performing their own choreography. They may choose any dance style, and the video must be 30 seconds-1 minute. Video must be submitted no later than June 5, 2025.**

-Must have at least 2 years of dance experience prior to trying out
-During our regular recital season, dancer must take ballet class twice a week, stretch/technique/turns/leaps class once a week, jazz once a week, and lyrical and/or contemporary once a week. Dancer must be registered for these classes for the upcoming season prior to trying out June 5th.
-Must have or be close to a split and straddle
-Must be able to do a clean double pirouette
-Must be able to do a calypso leap, saut de chat leap, illusion
-Must purchase our dance company jacket
-Must be enrolled in our Stretch/Technique/Turns/Leaps Summer Intensive in August
Cost:
-Senior Dance Company ages 12+: $1650 for the season
The $1650 is the budget for each student, which includes:
-August choreography day to start working on group pieces (6 hours)
-2 hour group rehearsals every other Friday
-Competition fees (2 competitions a season) and entry costs for 2 group competition dances
-at least 1 masterclass/workshop convention
-Costs to be in parades, showcases, and other noncompetitive events
-Costumes for these performances

Rehearsals:
Practice every other Friday
-Senior Company ages 12+: Fridays 5:40-7:40PM
All company practices are mandatory.
Students can only miss 2 company rehearsals per season for sickness. If students have to miss more than 2 company rehearsals due to sickness, they must make up every missed rehearsal with a separately scheduled private lesson and pay the additional cost of the private lesson ($43/30min or $85/hr with Miss Emily | $38/30min or $75/hr with Miss Kelley). In the event that a student absolutely must miss a company rehearsal for something other than sickness, they must schedule a private lesson to make up the missed rehearsal. If they cannot do such, they may not be permitted to participate in the upcoming performance that they are preparing for at that time. This is for the sake of the entire group. Solos, duos, and trios at competition are not included in the above pricing, so if students are selected to do such, this must be approved by parent/guardian prior to entering the performance into a competition.
