DANCE COMPANIES
SENIOR COMPANY AGES 12+
Our dance company is a committed group of dancers who perform at events, such as parades, dance competitions, nursing homes, etc. Ideally, they perform 7 times a year. Tryouts are August 27, 2024 and results will be out by August 31. There is a $10/dancer audition fee. Our dance company season runs from September-May.
**Current dance company members do not have to attend summer tryouts, rather they are to submit a video of themselves performing their own choreography. They may choose any dance style, and the video must be 30 seconds-1 minute. Video must be submitted no later than August 27, 2024.**
Requirements to be apart of the company:
-Must have at least 2 years of dance experience prior to trying out
-Must take a ballet class that runs twice a week, must take stretch/technique/turns/leaps class once a week, and must also take one of the following styles (jazz, lyrical, or contemporary) during our regular dance season and must be registered for these classes for the upcoming season prior to trying out in August
-Must have or be close to a split and straddle
-Must be able to do a clean double pirouette
-Must be able to do a calypso leap
-Must purchase our dance company jacket
-Must be enrolled in our Stretch/Technique/Turns Summer Intensive in August
Cost:
-Senior Dance Company ages 12+: $900 for the season
The $900 is the budget for each student, which includes:
-Group rehearsals every other Friday
-Competition fees and entry costs for group dances
(2 competitions for Senior Company)
-Costs to be in parades and other events
-Costumes for these performances

Rehearsals:
Practice every other Friday
-Senior Company ages 12+: Fridays 5:30-7PM
All company practices are mandatory.
-Students can only miss 2 company rehearsals per season for sickness, if students have to miss more than 2 company rehearsals due to sickness, they must make up every missed rehearsal with a separately scheduled 30 min private and pay the additional cost of the private lesson ($30 for 30 minutes). If they cannot do such, they may not be permitted to participate in the upcoming performance that they are preparing for at that time. This is for the sake of the entire group. Solos, duos, and trios at competition are not included in this pricing, so if students are selected to do such, this must be approved by parent/guardian prior to entering the performance into a competition.
