Class Attire Policies
Students must wear the proper clothing, shoes, and hairstyle for each dance class. Please look over the list below. Attire can be ordered through the studio by going to your parent portal and clicking “online store.”
Ballet (Kids)
Girls ages 3-4 wear any color leotard with pale pink tights and pink leather ballet slippers.
Girls ages 5-8 wear a pink or black leotard with pale pink tights and pink leather ballet slippers.
Girls ages 9-18 must wear a black leotard with pale pink tights and pink canvas ballet slippers.
Boys ages 3-18 wear black leggings or black ballet shorts (to the knee length) with a white fitted t-shirt and black leather ballet slippers.
Students 3-18 may not wear any bulky clothing over leotard except a ballet skirt if so desired. In the case of winter, they can wear a tight fitting top or wrap over the leotard.
Hair must always be secured back away from the face for ballet class (Girls’ hair must be in a bun!)
Ballet (Adults)
Adults may wear any tightly fitted clothing (no baggy t-shirts), preferably tights with shorts (or just leggings) and tightly fitted top or leotard, and either leather or canvas ballet slippers.

Jazz
Students ages 3-4 wear ballet attire listed above.
Students in jazz/tap combo class must wear jazz attire as well as jazz & tap shoes.
Girls ages 5-18 must wear tight fitting tops with either black dance shorts and tan tights underneath, or leggings/yoga pants. No baggy t-shirts may be worn.
Boys ages 5-18 may wear athletic or sweat pants with a fitted t-shirt.
Girls ages 5-18 must wear tan slip on jazz shoes and boys must wear black slip on jazz shoes.
Hair must be secured back away from the face.
Tap
Students in jazz/tap combo class must wear jazz attire as well as jazz & tap shoes.
**It is highly recommended to go to a local dance store to get fitted for tap shoes in person, since tap shoe size is normally different than street shoe size. We do not sell tap shoes through the studio**
Girls ages 5-6 wear black Mary Jane style tap shoes with strap across the front.
Boys ages 5-6 wear black tap shoes with laces
Girls & Boys ages 7-9 can wear Black Full Sole Capezio Fluid Tap Shoes (better quality) or any black full sole tap shoe with laces.
Girls & Boys ages 12-18 must wear Black Full Sole Bloch Respect Tap Shoes
Students can wear any comfortable clothing, but it is recommended to wear either tights or socks.
Hair must be secured back away from the face.
Hip Hop
Students can wear any comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in but no skirts or dresses. Students must wear a designated pair of black sneakers for class and performances. There are no outside shoes allowed on our dance floor so students’ black sneakers are for dance only and must not be worn outside. Hair must be secured back away from the face.
Contemporary
Students can wear any lightweight tops with any stretchy pants. Tan tights and black dance shorts or leggings are recommended but not required. They must also wear tan canvas half sole shoes. Hair must be secured back away from the face.
Stretch/Tech/Turns, Yoga, & Beginner Heels
Youth & adult students wear any comfortable exercise clothing, preferably tightly fitted clothing for stretch/tech/turns and either socks or bare feet for any of these classes.
Please bring your own mat for yoga.
For beginner heels, wear any heels you are comfortable dancing in, booties with a stiletto 2″-3″ heel are recommended.
